Rochester Update: I previously reported on the NY AG fining University of Rochester Medical Center a pittance ($15,000) for a pretty minor patient privacy violation involving a departing employed provider taking medical records of patients she had served.  Of course, that's state law action, and OCR could still act.

News out today is that OCR is not going to take any action against University of Rochester.  Seems like a good call and a good lesson: honest mistakes + quick and honest responses = easy absolution.  Cooperation is a good idea. . . .
